Collaborative Research in Sustainability (CRIS) Awards 2017
All full-time undergraduate students, working on sustainability-related research with Hamline faculty or staff, are eligible. We will support collaborative research into any issue related to sustainability (please see the pages on What is Sustainability for definitions and examples). We are particularly recruiting research related to campus sustainability, especially around energy, grounds, waste, conservation, student or community engagement, and equitable governance processes. The deadline for proposals is at the end of the week following spring break, so we encourage students and faculty to solidify their plans as soon as possible.
Awards for full-time summer research are $3000 ($2500 student, $500 faculty, plus stipends to participate in sustainability retreat). While research is normally conducted during the summer, awards can be given for research at other times if there are special circumstances. Summer on-campus dorm housing is available at no cost to participants, and can be requested in your application.
Application Deadline: For Summer 2017, the application deadline for the Summer Collaborative Undergraduate Research Program is March 31st (11:59 p.m.). A full description of the proposal and application process can be found here. Please note that the application process will involve the student collaborator completing and submitting the application form using the Google application form located at https://tinyurl.com/SCUR-Application-2017. Faculty collaborators will submit their letters of support to the attention of Paula Mullineaux at SCUR@hamline.edu.
