2016 spring Integrating Sustainability across the Curriculum workshop on May 19th and 20th in East Hall 106

All faculty, staff, and students are invited to participate in the 2016 spring Integrating Sustainability across the Curriculum workshop on May 19th and 20th in East Hall 106. 

On Thursday (from 9am to 4:30pm), we will orient people to existing sustainability work on campus. 

On Friday (from 9am to 4pm), we'll explore possible sustainability work to support across the coming year. 

Please RSVP to sustainability@hamline.edu by May 17 (students can request late stay checkout from dorms by May 13). If you can't make it to the whole thing, but would like to participate in some parts of the workshop, or to provide some feedback or suggestions about sustainability across campus, please contact Valentine Cadieux at sustainability@hamline.edu

We will post the more detailed schedule here as it develops (as you can see, the current schedule is tentative):

Schedule: Thursday, May 19

9:00am             Introductions and overview → History of Sustainability at Hamline exercise
10:30am           (after brief break) Outside exercise
11:00am           Updates on Sustainability I: [operations: IT?] + [curriculum: ___ ]
Noon                lunch (dining services)
1:00pm            Guided field trip back → curriculum possibilities around grounds and dining [Margot Howard talk about Catalyst trips, and possibilities here?]
1:45pm            Updates on Sustainability II: [operations: building tracking?] + [curriculum: AASHE MEASUREMENT?]
2:30pm            Student led project overviews: MPIRG, HEAL, Catalyst?
3:45 - 4:15pm Time for existing sustainability leaders to mentor new identified sustainability leaders → reflection exercise

9:00am           Introductions and overview → AASHE STARS aspirations → course brainstorming in breakout groups
10:15am         break
10:30am         Proposed Sustainability across the Curriculum Integrations I
Noon               lunch → campus PLACE tour

3:00-4:00pm   Closing reflections, looking ahead to summer work and August field trip check in
